Elio Di Rupo, became the new Prime Minister of Belgium two weeks ago. He’s the first homosexual that achieve a political charge like this in the history of all the countries that conform the E.U . Son of Italian inmigrants, with a Dutch control not as good as it must be for a Belgium Prime Minister, Di Rupo will try to find the solution to the political crisis.
This politician, with an Italian family past, socialist, homosexual, and unable to talk a fluently Dutch, appears as the best man to go over the political crisis, and he seems to be the man that can rescue Belgium from the disaster.

Di Rupo – who is going to be 61 the next18 of july– is, in fact, the typical walloon politician. At first because since the II World War socialists had dominated the walloon part of Belgium, and because during his political career he had to come over some scandals that are really common in the south region.
Since nowadays, the most important charge that he has had is being President of Wallonia, between 2005 and 2007, during a huge corruption scandal; that involves the social houses of Charleroi. But his actuation leaving his charge, and taking care since the Socialist Party cleaning up the party of all those corrupt politicians.
Belgium hadn’t got a french speaking, and socialist Prime Minister since 1974, after Edmond Leburton.
Goals for Belgium
Di Rupo really believes in a common Belgium, but he also had said that in the case that Flandes become independent, he would prefer Wallonia become a part of France.
May be a big change, and keep new ideas like the ones that Di Rupo is presenting. This could be the perfect opportunity to achieve an agreement between the two parts of Belgium.
