Ex-Guantanamo prisoner arrived Belgium
US president Obama closes the military prision at Guantanamo Bay. The Belgian government decided weeks ago to take one of these prisoner.

When Barack Obama became president January 2009 he promised to close down the probably worst prison in the world Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. This military prison is major issue for critics of the Bush administration, so it became a symbol of Bush’s war on terror.
Belgium approves one ex-inmate
As not all inmates can return home US President Obama asked other countries to help. Belgium accepted to accommodate one ex-Guantanamo detainee. Contrary to Kuwait, the Belgium government asked Washington not to public the identity of the accepted prisoner.
The inmate arrived on Thursday the 8th of October at the military airport in Melsbroek. The man will get residency papers and the can acquire a work permit. Belgian foreign Minister Yves Leterme assured that there is no kind of threat to the Belgian society.
Other countries accepted ex-prisoners
Other countries who agreed to house ex-Guantanamo prisoners are for instance Afghanistan, Australia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and United Kingdom.
