De Winne is back
Belgian astronaut Frank de Winne landed last Tuesday in North Kazakhstan. After a period of six months in the outer space his body needs to recover to gravity. He is the first European to command a mission in the International Space Station.
The Russian Soyuz space capsule did its job. After three hours of cross-atmosphere travelling, Russian Roman Romanenko, Canadian Robert Thirsk and Belgian de Winne landed safely on the Kazakh steppe. The lack of gravity has atrophied de Commander’s muscles and decalcified his bones, but still a smile showed in his face.

Always a smile on the face of this modern times hero
A lot of work has been done during the time spent in the space. Specially regarding long term gravity effects, large crew organization (it was the first time there were 6 astronauts at the same time) and extensive repairing. Next task is to analyze the results of the mission, and this is being undertaken in Moscow’s training center Star City, where the astronauts were taken after landing.
